Munganan


Munganan is the only district on the Kachina river in the south of the State.


Munganan has a population of about 14,000 people.


The village of Munganan is the seat of the village branch of the Munganan village council.


Munganan is surrounded by other villages of Naima district and is a small village with relatively few houses located in the outskirts of the district with a population of approximately 20,000 people.


This site covers about 9.3 hectares and is divided into seven sections:


Section Two is the traditional centre area, home to the local community and the village community, and with its own village hall that is known as the 'Munganan church'


Section Three is the agricultural land which is mainly used to raise food, pasture and provide some services to the villagers in Munganan's rural areas


Section Four is the residential area which covers one third of the area as the traditional 'village church', in addition to supporting local activities

Munganan, Naima, Jaffna and Karan districts are on the national transport network.


The Kichwa-based Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Kachina city conducts a regional research study on rural India every 10 years and in 2016 the institute presented the results of a 'State of Rural India' report. A similar State of Rural India report has been prepared for 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014.


The report found that 70.5 per cent of Indians in rural India live in poverty.


The report also noted that of these 70.5 per cent, only 34 per cent are classified as being in the most vulnerable classes or among those at greatest risk of suffering as a consequence of poverty, under the poverty line.


This poverty level in rural India is estimated to be 30 per cent higher than that in urban India


According to the National Sample Survey Organization (NSSO) for 2012 data, there are only 14.7 million rural residents. This represents 2.9 per cent of the total population.

Murder trial hears of accuseds gun purchase

Police discovered the gun while investigating a report of a child shooting inside a school in the North Austin school district.

The incident began just before 4 a.m. Tuesday when officers arrived at the North Austin school district, 14700 S. Loop 1604, where two boys reported that a boy had been shot, police said. The first officer had a gun pulled from his car and fired shots, striking the boy in the back. The second boy told the officers that his friend had been shot and was bleeding, and he also said the shooting appeared random.

The boy died at University Medical Center and the two other boys suffered minor injuries but later died, police said.

One of the boys, who was wearing a hoodie and glasses, told officers that he had gotten a call about gunshots just after 10 p.m. that day from another boy who also had received a call about a shooting.

The boy was taken to the University Medical Center for further treatment and later was pronounced dead. He was not named in the investigation.

A child was found with a gunshot wound at the North Austin school district

Officers found another gun in a vehicle that the boy had been driving, police said. Police arrested the boy and seized the gun.

No child was arrested in connection with the incident and the case remains under review, police said.
